Meet the 2026 ECA Leadership Excellence Scholars

The selection process has concluded, and we are delighted to announce the two recipients of the 2026 ECA Leadership Excellence Scholarship. Chosen from a strong field of nominations from ECA member casinos across Europe, both will attend the Executive Development Programme at Lake Tahoe from 7 to 14 November 2026, fully funded by the ECA and its partners.

Peter Turpin is Operations Director, London at Grosvenor Casinos, the UK’s largest casino operator. His fifteen years in gaming span Grosvenor, Caesars Entertainment and Metropolitan Gaming, across the UK, Egypt and South Africa, alongside twenty years in hospitality. He led the refurbishment and cultural turnaround of Grosvenor’s flagship casino, The Victoria.

Outi Tikkanen is Operations Manager at Casino Helsinki, part of Veikkaus Oy. She entered the industry over fifteen years ago as a gaming dealer and moved through customer service, business development and chain operations before leading the operational launch of a new casino in Tampere. She is a committed advocate for visibility and representation in casino leadership.

A milestone edition ahead

In 2027, the ECA will run this scholarship programme for the tenth time. A tenth edition deserves to be marked properly, and we will share our plans for the anniversary in due course.

In the meantime, ECA members are warmly encouraged to start thinking about who in their organisation might be ready to take this step. Nominations for the 2027 edition will open in the spring, and the earlier you identify your candidate, the stronger the submission tends to be. The next chapter could belong to one of your colleagues.
