ECA Security and Safety Workshop online (March 2026)
The ECA Security and Safety Working Group invites all registered participants to join an online preparatory session ahead of the main workshop taking place at Casino Lugano on 8–9 April 2026. This one-hour online meeting serves a dual purpose: to introduce the substantive programme we will explore together in Lugano, and to prepare the ground for the peer-to-peer exchanges that form the backbone of our annual gathering.
During the session, we will walk through the confirmed speaker presentations and themes scheduled for April, covering critical operational challenges from armed robbery prevention and advantage play versus cheating, to combating organised pickpocket networks, advanced video management systems, RFID smart table solutions, and data-driven fraud investigation. These topics reflect the evolving security landscape European casinos navigate daily, and our speakers—drawn from ECA member casinos and leading industry partners—bring frontline expertise and real-world case studies that rarely appear in published materials.
Importantly, this preparatory meeting will also address expectations for the internal sessions reserved exclusively for casino operators. As in previous years, the workshop includes dedicated time for member-to-member dialogue on operational matters specific to individual properties. Participants are asked to prepare a brief overview of their respective security and surveillance arrangements—covering organisational structure, technical infrastructure, and operational procedures—and to share practical insights that colleagues across Europe may find valuable in their own environments. These contributions might include operational protocols that have proven effective, challenges encountered and lessons learned, or approaches to emerging risks.
We recognise that such exchanges require careful handling. Contributions should focus on general operational frameworks, anonymised examples, and non-commercially sensitive observations that respect both data protection obligations and the competitive independence of participating organisations. The goal is mutual learning and professional development within a trusted, members-only forum, not the disclosure of proprietary systems, specific security measures, commercial arrangements, or information that could compromise operational integrity or competitive positioning.
This online session provides an opportunity to clarify these expectations, answer any questions about format or scope, and ensure that all participants arrive in Lugano prepared to contribute meaningfully to what has consistently been one of the most valued gatherings in the ECA calendar. The combination of expert-led sessions and practitioner-to-practitioner exchange is what enables us to build the peer networks and practical knowledge that genuinely help keep our guests, staff, and assets safe.
Both the online preparatory session and the in-person workshop are exclusive events for ECA members only. If you have not yet received the registration link and you are representing an ECA member organisation, please contact us at
