ECA AML and Compliance Workshop online (March 2026)
The European Anti-Money Laundering Authority (AMLA) has opened public consultations on draft Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) with a deadline on 8 May 2026. This one-hour workshop will focus on the key issues that impact land-based casino operations.
Topics Covered:
- Customer Due Diligence requirements – what information casinos must collect and verify
- Business relationships and transaction identification – new criteria for occasional and linked transactions, including potential lower thresholds
- Pecuniary sanctions and administrative measures – the enforcement framework
- Practical implications for casino floor operations and compliance procedures
These new standards will apply across all EU Member States and will shape how casinos conduct their AML/CFT obligations in the coming years.
AMLA Public Hearings – 24 March 2026:
The ECA workshop takes place immediately after AMLA's official online public hearings on the same day. Members interested in attending can register for the following sessions:

ECA Task Force:
During the workshop, we will introduce the ECA Task Force preparing our coordinated response to the AMLA consultations. This group of experts from across our member organisations will ensure that the operational characteristics of land-based casinos are properly represented in our submission before the 8 May deadline.
All members are encouraged to also submit their own responses and national input. Individual contributions, alongside our coordinated ECA response, will strengthen the representation of land-based casino perspectives in the development of these regulatory standards.
This workshop is exclusively for representatives of ECA member casinos.
