Yared Gabretensaye

Yared is a veteran of the gaming industry with over 30 years of experience. He began his gaming carrier in Edmonton, Canada in the late 80´s gaining extensive experience in operations, start-ups as well as mergers & acquisitions over the years to come. Prior to settling down in Sweden he worked in the cruise line industry for 8 years, where hospitality was highly emphasized in the casino operation onboard the luxury cruise ships.  He currently holds the positions of General Manager at Casino Cosmopol in Malmoe and Vice President of Table Games, for the state-owned casino operator in Sweden.

In 2006 he was commissioned by the ECA to establish the prestigious European Dealer Championship (EDC) together with a colleague from Holland Casino. Together, they organized the yearly event in various member countries until 2015, continuously improving quality and growth. The EDC continues to be an important event that promotes and showcases the skills and abilities of trained gaming professionals.

As board member, Yared aims to contribute to the fulfilment of ECA´s strategic objectives.
