ECA board of directors - Resignation of Heliodoro Giner

1 March 2017

Brussels, 1 March 2017 - With effect of the end of December 2016, Heliodoro Giner, member of the European Casino Association (ECA) board of directors resigned his position.

Mr Giner also parted company with the Spanish Association, the Asociacion Española de Casinos de Juego (AECJ) that he represented. He will now be seeking new professional challenges and the ECA would like to place on record its sincere gratitude for Mr Giner’s valued contribution in the past years and wish him well for the future. On behalf of the board of directors, ECA chair Per Jaldung thanked Mr Giner for his great support for the association.

As one of the founding fathers of the ECA, Mr Giner has been very influential in developing and growing the association. Most recently, he was the ECA’s Vice-President for Legal Affairs and led activities on crucial topics for the licensed land-based casino industry such as anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing. The working group on Legal and Regulatory Affairs has now been taken over by ECA Vice-President Prof. Dietmar Hoscher who will lead the work on these topics going forward.

The ECA very much looks forward to working with the new representatives of the Spanish Casino Association and continuing the successful cooperation for the land-based casino industry in Spain and across Europe.
