
Proposals for the IMCO report on the Commission's Online Gambling Communication
On the 25 March 2013, ECA submitted its comments and proposals for amendments to the European Parliament's IMCO draft report by MEP Ashley Fox on the Communication from the Commission: Towards a comprehensive European Framework for online gambling. In it, ECA stresses 1) that gambling ought not to be viewed as a normal economic activity, and 2) the need to fight against illegal online gambling.
EL ECA & EPMA Letter to Commissioner Barnier
The European Lotteries, ECA and the European Pari Mutuel Association have sent a joint letter to Commissioner Barnier in order to explain their common views about the Action Plan on Online Gambling adopted by the European Commission, 23 October 2012.

ECA submission about the application of the Anti-Money Laundering directive
ECA gladly responded to the European Commission's request for comments on the report on the application of Directive 2005/60/EC on the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purpose of money laundering and terrorist financing published on 11 April 2012.
ECA Responses to the Green Paper on Online Gambling - July, 2011
ECA was happy to take advantage of the invitation for the public to respond to the EU Commission's Green Paper on online gambling in the Internal Market. The ECA was able to draw on its membership's wealth of experience and expertise in order to contribute to the informing of the EU Commission on such a new and booming sphere within the European Gaming industry.

The European Casino Association (ECA) appreciated the initiative taken by the European Commission’s DG Internal Market to tender a study on the legal and economic framework for gambling services in the European Union’s Member States. A legal analysis of national rules is, for as far as it does not exist already, a helpful tool.

Services in the Internal Market for the gaming sector The proposed Directive on Services in the Internal Market covers most services provided to consumers and businesses across the EU. In the proposal the Commission put forward in January 2004, the Directive also addresses the issue of games of chance in the internal market.
